Job Description

Blueprint recruitment is searching for a motivated Technical Director to join a leading Engineering Consultancy, on a permanent basis, in London.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction and technical leadership, to ensure high quality standards and technical aspects are achieved.

This position offers the chance to be part of a hard-working team of Engineers and Technicians who have a wealth of experience in the Engineering industry.

Our client specialises in offering innovative Engineering and Building Surveying services, across a wide range of sectors, including, Education, Heritage, Transport, Infrastructure and Commercial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and communicate the technical vision and strategy
  • Lead the development and implementation of technical initiatives
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to project teams, ensuring adherence to best practices, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and approve technical designs, plans, and specifications
  • Mentor more junior staff when required
  • Provide coaching and professional development opportunities to team members
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations when required
  • Ensure that all technical deliverables meet quality standards, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of technical leadership and project delivery in a similar role
  • Excellent technical expertise across multiple disciplines
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and best practices
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
